Obituary of Margaret Louise Thompson

Funeral services for Margaret Louise Thompson, 90, New London, will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 11, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with Reverend Jim Hilton and Reverend Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Henderson. Mrs. Thompson died Saturday, February 8, 2014 in a Tyler hospital. She was born July 20, 1923 in Cushing Oklahoma to the late Ellis Harold and Ona Mildred Trippe Hann. She moved to New London 60 years ago from Kilgore and was owner and operator of the New London Dry Cleaners for over twenty years. She was a volunteer for the London Museum and her husband, Billy Gene Thompson was a survivor of the London school explosion. She loved collecting and making dolls and she was a member of the New London Methodist Church. Besides her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Thompson on September 7, 2013. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Rodney Thompson and Scott Thompson, a brother, Harold Hann, and a sister, Donna Kent. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Jyoti Thompson, Overton, and Kent and Linda Thompson, Overton; six grandchildren and spouses, Carman Robinson, Melissa and Michael Musslewhite, Kimberly Thompson, Liza Mezelle Holly Thompson, and Blake and Leslie Thompson; six great grand children and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dawson Rogers, Zane Beck, Blake Thompson, Parker Mezelle, Michael Musslewhite, and Jerry Reaves. Honorary pallbearers will be volunteers of the London Museum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, February 10, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Museum, 690 S. Main, New London, Texas 75682
